Some links on this site earn us a commission when you apply through them. This page explains exactly what that means, and — more importantly — what it does not change.

What we earn

Where we have an affiliate relationship with a card issuer or its network, applying through our link may pay us a commission or a share of revenue. It never costs you anything, and it does not change the terms you are offered.

Cards we have no relationship with are reviewed and ranked on exactly the same basis, and appear on the same pages. A card with no affiliate programme can and does outrank cards that pay us.

How to tell which links are paid

Every review page states its own status in plain language, directly on the page. A page either says we earn a commission from that issuer, or it says we currently receive no compensation from that issuer. There is no third state and nothing is implied by silence. Paid links are additionally marked next to the button itself and carry a sponsored attribute in the page source.

What compensation does not influence

• Scores. Produced by the fixed-weight rubric on our methodology page. The weights are published, applied identically to every card, and are not adjusted after seeing a result.
• Ranking and order. Every list on this site is sorted by score. Compensation is not an input to the sort, and we do not sell placement.
• Which cards we cover. Coverage follows what readers are actually choosing between, not which issuers have a programme.
• What a review says. Where a card that pays us has a real drawback, the review says so.

Why we spell this out

A comparison site that orders results by what it gets paid, while presenting them as objective, is doing something regulators specifically warn about — the CFPB addressed exactly this pattern in comparison-shopping tools and lead generation. We publish the rubric in advance so that the ordering is checkable by anyone, rather than asking you to trust an assurance.

Accuracy and corrections

Card terms change frequently and issuers do not announce every change. Each review shows when we last verified it against the issuer’s terms, and flags itself when that date is getting old. If you find something wrong, email contact@cryptocreditcards.io and we will correct it.
